Interim Principal Announced for Eastern Hills Middle School

LaBecca Thompson, an experienced educator and trusted leader familiar to Killeen ISD, has been selected to serve as interim principal at Eastern Hills Middle School for the remainder of the 20205-2026 school year. 

Thompson will begin the role on Dec. 1.   

Thompson spent 27 of her 39-year career in education as part of the KISD family, most recently serving as principal of Mountain View Elementary from 2021 to her retirement in 2024. Prior to that, Thompson was an assistant principal (2016-2021) and a curriculum instructional specialist at Audie Murphy Middle School.  

“We are thrilled to welcome back Ms. Thompson, and we appreciate and are grateful for her willingness to step into this role,” KISD Deputy Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and School Leadership Dr. Terri Osborne said. “Ms. Thompson is committed to shaping a positive educational experience for all students and will guide Eastern Hills with passion, purpose and enthusiasm.” 

Thompson also taught at the middle school and elementary school levels during her time with KISD. Before moving to Killeen, she began her career as a teacher with Amarillo ISD. 

Thompson earned a bachelor’s degree from West Texas State University and a master’s degree in educational administration from Tarleton State University.
